* 投稿摘要： Synovial Cancer is a cancer of the tissues surrounding the joints or Synovial tissues. Classical synovial sarcoma has a biphasic appearance with both fibrous and epithelial cell characteristics. Rarely, the tumor exhibits one monophasic form without exhibiting the other. Synovial sarcoma of the foot and ankle frequently is misdiagnosed, which leads to delays in treatment. Common findings at presentation were an enlarging mass with a variable incidence of pain, tenderness, or edema. The patients tended to be younger than patients with other soft tissue sarcomas (30 years). The incidence of synovial sarcoma is 2.5 per 100,000 people annually.We report a 21 year-old female patient who had experienced pain in the right mid foot a lipoma like appeared for 4 years . A biopsy was performed. The specimen is composed of nine pieces of brownish tissue, measuring up to 3.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm. Sections show an infiltrative tumor within the soft tissues. Histology provided the findings of a synovial sarcoma. Immunohistochemical staining was strongly positive for Vimentin and BCL-2. The tumor also stained positive for Epithelial Membrane Antigen (EMA). Tumor cells did not stain positive for CD34, CD99, desmin, S-100 or smooth muscle actin.With this information, the neoplasm was defined to be a monophasic synovial sarcoma. Synovial sarcoma is a rare soft tissue tumor that may be encountered in clinical practice. It is the most common malignancy in the foot and ankle. The death rate from synovial sarcoma is 2%. If synovial sarcoma is properly and promptly treated it will lead to less complications, lessen the degree of recurrence and decrease the risk of metastasis and premature death.
