* 投稿摘要：	Epidemiological studies have indicated that liver cancer is one of the leading cancer of death in Taiwan. At patient, surgical therapy and chemotherapy are the major strategies for the cure of liver cancer. The chemotherapeutic drugs are usually designed to induce cancer cell death via cell cycle arrest and/or apoptosis pathways. The MTT assay and apoptosis assay by flow-cytometry to evaluate the inhibition of human liver cancer cell (HepG2) proliferation and tumor growth by the extracts of Chinese herbs extracts. The investigation of the signal transduction pathway were analyzed by western blots. The indicated that Chinese herbs extracts significantly decreased cell proliferation by a dose-dependent manner in HepG2 cells. Flow cytometry demonstrated that Chinese herbs extracts induced cell cycle arrest at G0/G1 phase. When analysis the expression of cell cycle-related proteins, we found that Chinese herbs extracts increased caspase3, Bax and PARP in a dose-dependent manner. These results suggest that Chinese herbs extracts could inhibit human liver cancer cell proliferation and tumor growth via modulation of apoptosis, and might be a potential drug for chemotherapy.
