* 投稿摘要: Background/Purpose: Conventional methods can identify anaerobic bacteria; but they are troublesome, time-consuming and requires more expertise. Many commercial biochemical systems are available for identification of anaerobes. But these assays are technically complex, cumbersome and expensive. Hence, alternative techniques with improved sensitivity, specificity, cost-down and time-effectiveness are required to facilitate early treatment. The purpose of this retrospective study is to investigate the performance of the Bruker Microflex MS (B-M MS) in the identification of anaerobes. Methods: Consecutive, a broad diversity of anaerobes were tested during a period of three months (August 2015 to October 2015). MALDI-TOF analysis was performed using a B-M MS. Captured spectra were analysed using a MALDI-TOF Biotyper automated control and the Bruker Biotyper 3.1 software and library (Bruker Daltonics). Results were interpreted as follows: < 1.7 as unreliable identification, 1.7-1.999 as valid identification to the genus level, and ≥ 2.0 as definite identification of the genus and probable identification of the species. Results: A total of 215 anaerobes comprising 78 GNB, 15 GNC, 41 GPC, and 81 GPB made up of 13 genera and 36 species were tested. The B-M MS correctly identified 158 (73.5%) isolates to the species level and an additional 57 (26.5%) at the genus level. In particular, the B-M MS correctly identified clinically relevant and frequently isolated anaerobes to the species level. Conclusions: The B-M MS showed reliable identifications for clinically relevant anaerobes.
