* 投稿摘要： Background: Atherosclerosis is the dominant cause of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Common carotid artery intima-media thickness (CCA-IMT) is a widely accepted surrogate marker of early atherosclerosis, and increased CCA-IMT has been linked to an elevated CVD. Objective: CCA-IMT is known be a good surrogate marker of early atherosclerosis. We aim to investigate the association between cardiovascular risk factors and CCA-IMT in healthy adults. Methods: A total of 91 subjects who had no apparent history of CVD were enrolled consecutively in this study. After an accurate clinical examination, and a biochemical evaluation, the enrolled subjects underwent B mode ultrasonography to assess CCA-IMT. Results: The mean age of subjects was 58.0±9.5 years (34 men, 37.4%). The mean CCA-IMT was 0.82±0.13 mm. Univariate linear analysis showed a positive correlations with age, metabolic syndrome (MS), heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood blood pressure (DBP), pulse pressure (PP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), haemoglobin A1C (HbA1C), uric acid (UA), total cholesterol (TCHO), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), lipoprotein (a) (LP(a)), D-dimer, fibrinogen, and use anti-hypertensive. Multivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation of CCA-IMT with HR, MS, PP, HbA1C, TCHO, and LP(a). Conclusions: HR, MS, PP, HbA1C, TCHO, and LP(a) are independently associated with CCA-IMT in individuals without CVD. Our data suggest that HR, MS, PP, HbA1C, TCHO, and LP(a) correlate with early atherosclerotic changes of the carotid artery in a population with very low cardiovascular risk.
