* 投稿摘要：	Activation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) may play important roles in linking inflammation to tumor development and progression. This study aims to investigate the potential associations of NF-κB single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) susceptibility and its clinicopathologic characteristics. Genetic polymorphism of NF-κB was analyzed by a real-time polymerase chain reaction (real-time PCR) in 135 patients with HCC and 520 non-cancer controls. After adjusting for other co-variants, the individuals carrying NF-κB -94 ATTG2 (ATTG1/ATTG2+ATTG2/ATTG2) polymorphisms were a 2.23-fold [95% confidence interval (CI), 1.32-3.77)] risk to have HCC compared to ATTG1 wild type carriers. However, patients with HCC with at least one ATTG2 allele of the NF-κB gene had a lower risk of developing advanced stage (p < 0.05) compared with those with ATTG1 homozygotes. Our results suggest that NF-κB -94 ATTG2 alleles are associated with HCC carcinogenesis in Taiwanese.
