Abstract
Introduction: The overall prevalence of anti-HCV was 4.4% respectively in Taiwan; Literature indicates that, with the role of hepatitis C virus, Persistent inflammation with necrosis of the liver tissue will result in some patients with hepatitis developing into liver derived diabetes. The literature also pointed out that, Insulin resistance to the important features of type 2 diabetes, Performance of the pro-inflammatory hormones (Such as : TNF-alpha、Interleukin-6), Be caused by the occurrence of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes an important reason. In order to understand the correlation of hepatitis C patients with pro-inflammatory IL-6 expression and insulin resistance, In this study, patients with hepatitis, Discussion on correlation, In order to provide a reference to the medical personnel to do follow-up medical services for patients with hepatitis C.
Materials and methods:Collected the blood by the gastroenterologist and Endocrinologist to confirm, To attract the informed consent letter of 43 diabetic patients,52 patients without hepatitis and diabetes were randomly, and 17 patients with hepatitis C,Analysis of glucose, HbA1c, Insulin Ab and IL-6 by Roche C501、Perkin Elmer 1470 instrument、Thermo Multiskan Spectrum, Inspection data to the t test to compare and determine a difference in degree.
Result:The data of HbA1c,glucose,and Insulin Ab by 17 patients with hepatitis C(6.4±1.9%, 124±81 mg/dL, 6.51±1.0 %), and 43 diabetic patients(6.9±1.2 %, 120±39mg/dL, 6.43±0.8 %)higher than those without hepatitis and diabetes randomized controlled patients(5.5±0.2 %, 84±7 mg/dL, 5.53±0.55 %), Showing significant differences(*P<0.05). Although not as in the previous biomarker by IL-6, But the patients with hepatitis C(0.0080±0.0144 ng/mL)and diabetes patients(0.0066±0.0056ng/mL)were higher than that in the control group(0.0006±0.0042 ng/mL)。
Discussion: Hepatitis patients may be to lead the occurrence of high blood sugar. Difficult to find, expression of average blood glucose, IL-6, and insulin antibodies increased with hepatitis C patients, also the HCV infection is important causes of high blood sugar. Through the performance with biomarker of the HCV infection, even expression studies of gene, can to help the hepatitis C patients with medical services.
